Tiny Truths Bible Review and Giveaway!
Sharing the Joy of G-d’s Word with Little Ones
Reading is one of life’s great pleasures! I was an early reader and writer (no surprise there) thanks to the efforts of my mother, an educator with a knack for transforming struggling and reluctant readers into advanced devourers of books.
When I was blessed with my first child, I eagerly looked forward to teaching her how to read so she could discover the joy of books for herself! Now, 6 years later, it’s common to find her curled up with a stack of good reads.
My sweet daughter is at an age where curiosity reigns, so she has questions about all sorts of things, including spiritual matters.
Since she is able to handle books properly, my husband and I gifted her with her own Bible in an easy to read translation at the beginning of 2019. She was over the moon!
The only problem? My 3 year old son was provoked to jealousy.
Of course, we have a few children’s Bibles around for him to use, but they were no longer interesting to him.
He wanted his very own Bible, not a hand me down from our family collection.
I tried to find a nice Bible that was appropriate for a preschooler, but everything I found was either too infantile or too advanced for him.
Tiny Truths for Curious Kiddos
Just when I was ready to give up, I was given a copy of the Tiny Truths Bible to review. I was ecstatic!
Not only is this gorgeous Bible worded especially for children who are 4-6 years old, but the beautiful illustrations also feature a diverse depiction of the people of the Mediterranean that is far more accurate.
As the mother of biracial children and someone who has many friends and a handful of relatives from the Holy Lands, it’s refreshing to see Biblical characters portrayed with a variety of skin tones and hair textures representative of their origins in Asia, Europe, and Africa.
Let’s take a closer look at this great resource! Read all the way to the end for details on the Tiny Truths giveaway!

Core Concepts of Faith Explained (with One Noticeable Omission)
Tiny Truths contains a collection of 33 Bible stories from both the Old and New Testaments. Each story takes about 5-7 minutes to read, which is just perfect for little ones who love to fidget!
The editors managed to condense each story down to its core action and spiritual principles so that young children are able to receive a good foundation in Biblical truth. However, there is one spiritual principle that the editors should have covered that was strangely missing from the text: sin.
Fortunately for my children, we also read from a different book that is designed to teach catechism to children. This book teaches the truth about sin in a way that is straight forward and easy for young children to understand.
I have no idea why the editors of Tiny Truths did not explore the concept of sin, but without that understanding, it’s hard to understand exactly why certain events took place in various stories. Nevertheless, it is still a worthwhile resource for Christian families who want to introduce young children to the faith.
Engaging for All Ages
The text is simple enough for someone on a 1st grade level to read, but it is engaging enough to be enjoyable for an adult. Even after we read our daily portion as a family, my son would run off alone with the book, both kids would sit together as my daughter read it aloud, or my husband and I would flip through it for fun.
The illustrators did a fine job of bringing each story to life with interesting scenes that round out the narrative. My kids and I have been having a blast admiring each picture as we move through each story. There are such beautiful details in each one!
Tackling Challenging Biblical Accounts with Kids in Mind
One of the most impressive aspects of this book is how the editors handled telling the story of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. In other children’s Bibles that we own, this crucial part of the gospel is omitted entirely.
Granted, it’s not easy to explain such weighty matters to children, but Jesus’ death and resurrection is a core foundational belief of the Christian faith. As the apostle Paul vehemently tells us in 1 Corinthians 15:14 “And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching in vain, and your faith is also vain.”
In Tiny Truths, children are given a truthful yet appropriate account of the events leading up to Jesus’ death and the wonderful events following His resurrection.
A Welcome Addition to Our Family Library
My children and I have been reading through Tiny Truths daily during our family’s symposium. Out of all the lovely things we do during this very important time together, I know Tiny Truths is one of our favorites!
If the editors decide to release a second edition with a broader collection of Bible stories and a deeper dive into doctrine, I’d love to get my hands on a couple of copies for my family and for other families I know.
As it stands, this current edition is well done and I’m thrilled to have it as a part of our family library. I’ve already purchased a copy in addition to the one I was given to review and I’ve convinced other families to buy copies to use with their little ones.
