The Life-Changing Power of Mentorship
The Power of Mentorship
I woke up this morning feeling incredibly grateful for all the people who have contributed to my growth through the years.
It’s so powerful to have mentors guiding you through life, especially when you’re feeling stuck.
I’d like to spend some time publicly thanking some mine* with the hope that you will glean lessons on what a mentor can do for you and why you need one to achieve your goals.

To my Emotional Intelligence Mentor
Dee Dee LeFrak, your understanding of human nature is so deep and insightful. I have learned so much from you about the art of self-care and how to be assertive without upsetting my feminine energy. I’ve been so blessed to have your ear over the past 6 years and your constant encouragement. No one walks their talk the way you do. You’re a real treasure!
To my Polymath Mentor
Karla Fears, you’re the type of friend everyone dreams of having. You cherish and love people deeply. I know that when you say you love me (and my family), you mean it. You’ve lived an amazing life full of adventure and self-determination, yet you’re so humble. What an honor it has been to know a bonafide Renaissance Woman. I appreciate having such a cultured, brilliant, and creative friend!
To my Confidence Mentor
You’re an accomplished woman with a passion for seeing other women live well. I love how supportive you are of the choices your friends make, your eclectic style, and your infectious joie de vivre. Your ambition challenges me to dream bigger for my own life. Despite your busy schedule, you’ve always checked in with me, sometimes just to let me know how proud you are of me just for being myself. Your kindness is matchless!
To my Boss Babe Mentor
Sheila Brown, you’ve been so generous to me with your wealth of knowledge throughout the years. When I think about taking life by the horns, your name is the first that comes to mind. You have given me the precious gift of perspective and made me feel like a phenomenal woman when my life seemed mediocre at best. I love how resourceful you are and I admire your commitment to lifelong learning. You’re simply fabulous!
A New Understanding of Self
Without a doubt, the effort these women have spent on me since taking me under their wings has changed my life for the better.
I recently shared the following with my Boss Babe Mentor in response to the question “Are you where you thought you’d be in life?”
“I can say that I’m realizing I have a lot of life ahead of me and my concept of who I am and what my purpose is has been evolving as the years pass. I feel a lot of hope for my future and I’m excited to discover how my efforts today will shape my tomorrow.”
I would never have been able to make a statement like that had it not been for the years of nurturing I’ve received from these four women and others like them.
A good mentor will challenge your beliefs about yourself and help you to discover the path to get from where you are now to where you want to be. Their wisdom, tough love, and encouragement are the catalysts that spark powerful transformation in your life as they provide you with support.
Paying It Forward
One of the reasons I revived this blog is so I can mentor moms who are where I was not too long ago. It’s my mission to be your virtual WAHM entrepreneurship mentor so you can live the life of freedom that you’ve desperately wanted to experience.
So, my question to you is…
How can I help you?
Leave a comment, send an email, or give me a shout on Twitter.
I look forward to having a conversation with you.
